Awaken – Technical Demo

16

Finally some more Dungeon Crawler news! We’ve been working hard to get a first playable version of Awaken (our dungeon crawler) out into the wild. And today we’re ready to let you have a play with it. Please note: This version is not a finished game. Not even close to it. Rather it is a technical demo of our dungeon generator and some of the basic game mechanics. All you can do (for now) is to get lost in the depths of the dungeons. There’s a total of 5 levels for now and the dungeons get larger the further down you go. But we think it’s fun already anyway! πŸ™‚

Our plan is to continually add features over the next few months until it’s mature enough for a proper release. So if you’re interested in the game, make sure you check back regularly to get the latest version.

Read on to get to the download details & instructions.

Here’s what we’d like from you:

  • Play the demo and let us know what you think πŸ™‚
  • If you come across any odd and weird dungeons please drop us a line in the comments with the random seed (top-left corner) and the level it happened on
  • What kind of dungeons (or seeds) do you think work well?
  • We’d love to get some performance feedback. What hardware were you running it on and what kind of frame rates are you getting?
  • Any other improvement feedback and feature suggestions are very, very welcome

Controls:
Android uses touch controls. There’s a small HUD to navigate around and a single “use” button. You can open doors with that.
The desktop version uses WASD for walking and Q/E for turning around. Use SPACE to open things.

Alright, looking forward to your guys’ feedback!
